This works, and it's better, but there's a lot more to do. TBH this is an improvement over Hangouts, but lets not forget how antiquated Hangouts was. And lets be honest thats about 150x faster. 4- On mobile I can't type out an emoji and have it pop up like on desktop. The Chat Webapp really is what we need here. Even the hangouts UI is set up better than this. I'm definitely looking at a stretched out iphone app. 1- No slide over or split screen (come on its 2021 here lets go) 2- App screen usage is abysmal. The desktop web app is soooo much better. but tbh this app is missing quite a bit to be set up for the iPad. So I'm going to start with my pros at the moment: 1- everything else seems to be mostly functional 2- all my chats and rooms are there and accessible 3- the app doesn't crash as far as I can tell. So I'd say that its an improvement over hangouts.
